To keep burying all your sorrows
All your problems
Until they are so deep in the bottle
that you don’t understand them anymore
So what’s the plan?
To make up more
and more
lies, that you
believe them as truths
Never admitting that the bottle isn't the issue
It’s you
You cry and
you plead
But what exactly do you expect
of me
of us
To cry and to plead
So what’s the plan?
You keep going the way you are going
Then it is I who will be doing the burying now
I who will cry
Who will ask
why
And when it is time to say goodbye
I shall lay you beneath the one you love most
The one that has always been more
important
I shall lay you beneath the bottle.

Tierra Nash was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She is currently a Senior at the University of Texas at El Paso. She is an English and American Lit major, and is also receiving a Minor in Creative Writing.
