You... Solecito
jocelyn p. martinez chavez
On those red benches
I meet the beauty that waits for me.
After a long walk to your side,
I taste your sweet lips, like tasting sugar on spring.
Since the day we first spoke,
And our eyes first met,
You’ve been my dearest miracle,
My space, to be myself
Even if we only see each once a week
It feels like we’ve always been linked.
When we hold hands, kiss or become one
The world fades, only you and I.
Your soft hair, chunky cheeks and precious smile
Weaken me even as a single thought.
As the sun warms my heart,
You become the light I carry home.
